Bolivia and Russia are joining forces and demanding that President Barak Obama rescind his Nobel Peace Prize after he gave the green light for the US to involve itself in the bombing (read killing) of Libyan soldiers defending Gaddafi and many innocent civilians.
The award was given to Obama because of his work to reduce nuclear arms across the globe, but the opposers say that point is moot. Evo Morales, President of Bolivia stated “”How is it possible that a Nobel Peace Prize winner leads a gang to attack and invade? This is not a defense of human rights or self-determination…” That comment should be taken with a grain of salt since Morales won the Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights awhile back.
A common theme running through all this backlash is that the war is not being fought to “save the Libyans”, but in fact to control the oil rich lands of Libya and the country itself. It is a well known fact wars is usually about resources – NEVER about people (otherwise the atrocities on the African continent would have been resolved long ago).
Obama, knowing he was in the middle of two wars when he accepted the award said “”There will be times when nations — acting individually or in concert — will find the use of force not only necessary but morally justified.” Easy to say when you inherit a war…but this one [Libya] is all Obama. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, eh?
Obama is now being touted as the only Nobel Peace Prize winner to bomb and kill thousands. Irony is a bitch.
